With a prominent presence, Compa\u00f1\u00eda Minera del Pac\u00edfico (CMP) took part in the III Proyectmin Conference \u201c2025\u20132028: A New Supercycle of Mining Investment?\u201d, a meeting that gathered key industry players to discuss current projects, investment outlooks, and the challenges the sector will face in the coming years\u2014all with the goal of creating a space for dialogue between authorities, mining companies, and strategic suppliers.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Chile\u2019s Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, who highlighted the positive outlook projected for the next decade, with investments expected to exceed US$83 billion. She also addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with critical minerals, the energy transition, technological transformation, and the need for responsible mining.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these spaces where the different actors of the mining industry converge are very important because they allow us to build common, long-term visions for mining\u2014an industry that is strongly challenged worldwide by the need for greater production. In this context, Chile is a relevant player where, together with the value chain, investors, and producers, we can deliver a production model that is highly responsible at a global level,\u201d stated the Minister.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In this setting, CMP presented its operational continuity and growth plan through a presentation by Ricardo G\u00f3mez, CMP\u2019s Deputy Project Manager, who outlined the company\u2019s investment strategy focused on maximizing business sustainability, leading the high-quality iron market, and driving development in the territories where it operates.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, participating in Proyectmin is key to highlighting the relevance of iron mining and broadening the perspective on what is happening worldwide. At CMP, we practice a different kind of mining, with a strong territorial presence and 98% of our suppliers being local. Our goal is to become South America\u2019s leading producer of high-quality iron, with a sustainable approach in environmental, social, and economic dimensions,\u201d emphasized G\u00f3mez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

During the presentation, CMP highlighted the importance of iron ore, the company\u2019s most significant milestones, and its future-defining projects, such as the \u201cTechnological Optimization and Production Increase at the Cerro Negro Norte Mine\u201d, along with expansion plans across its three operational valleys\u2014Copiap\u00f3, Huasco, and Elqui. These initiatives aim to secure operational continuity, create new job opportunities, and deliver sustainable value to local communities.<\/p>\n

For his part, Cristian Sol\u00eds, General Manager of B2B Media Group, the event\u2019s organizer, praised CMP\u2019s participation and the role of the conference as a meeting point for the mining ecosystem. \u201cThe development that CMP is driving combines high-level investments, technology, social value, and environmental commitment. It is a clear example of how mining can move towards a sustainable model that contributes to the country\u2019s development,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The III Proyectmin Conference was the perfect setting to address the challenges and opportunities of mining projects scheduled for the 2025\u20132028 period, with total investments reaching US$45.2 billion, according to the Chilean Copper Commission.<\/p>\n
