During the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Women and Mining Roundtable, the Ministry of Mining recognized Claudia Monreal for her leadership and contribution to opening opportunities for women in the mining industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the commemoration held in the Antofagasta Region, Compa\u00f1\u00eda Minera del Pac\u00edfico (CMP) Planning, New Business and Development Manager Claudia Monreal was one of six women honored by the Ministry of Mining as a \u201cPioneer Woman in Chilean Mining,\u201d an award that highlights her contribution to advancing female inclusion in the industry.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Claudia Monreal acknowledged the progress the sector has made in gender equity and the role companies play in sustaining these changes over time.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor CMP, it is very important to be part of this commemoration. Inclusion is one of our key development focuses, and we are convinced it has been essential to the company\u2019s growth and strong results in recent years. Being pioneers at the time was a silent challenge; today, the real challenge is sustaining these advances and continuing to open spaces that we previously did not see or that did not exist,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the event, Minister of Mining Aurora Williams highlighted the importance of female leadership in transforming the industry and the sustained work carried out by the Women and Mining Roundtable since its creation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to recognize women who have been leaders, and especially Claudia Monreal, who brought Women in Mining (WIM) to Chile \u2014 a network that today brings together more than 3,000 women linked to the mining sector, creating spaces for support, visibility, and the integration of new talent in a key industry for the country\u2019s development,\u201d the minister stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since its creation, the Women and Mining Roundtable has driven a historic transformation in the sector, increasing female participation in large-scale mining from 3% in 2006 to 23.1% today, consolidating a path toward a more diverse, inclusive industry with greater opportunities.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Claudia Monreal highlighted CMP\u2019s internal progress in female leadership, noting that the company now has one of the executive committees with the highest female participation globally.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started with zero women and in four years reached 60%. This change comes from a genuine conviction and the decision to build a more inclusive company. It is a case worth observing and replicating, because as an industry we have the responsibility to step forward and drive these transformations,\u201d she emphasized.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With this recognition, CMP reaffirms its commitment to a more inclusive and sustainable mining industry, promoting female leadership as a strategic pillar for the sector\u2019s development and strengthening a diverse, equitable organizational culture prepared for future challenges.<\/p>\n
