The event brought together representatives from the innovation ecosystem, industry, academia, and civil society in both regions to strengthen collaboration networks, showcase female talent, and create new opportunities for regional development.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elqui Valley, Chile \u2013 Compa\u00f1\u00eda Minera del Pac\u00edfico (CMP) played a prominent role in the 2026 editions of Women Open Innovation (WOI) held in the Coquimbo and Atacama regions. Originally launched in Santiago to promote greater female participation in innovation, WOI has expanded its regional presence through a strategic partnership with CMP, fostering discussions on the unique challenges and opportunities facing each territory.<\/p>\n

One of the key highlights of WOI Coquimbo, held on May 27\u201328 at Enjoy Coquimbo, was the recognition of Paulina Andreoli, CMP’s Risk Management and Sustainability Manager, who was honored as a regional female leader and appointed an official ambassador of the Women Economic Forum (WEF) in recognition of her professional achievements and contributions to regional development.<\/p>\n

Upon receiving the award, Andreoli said she felt “deeply honored and proud” to represent the women leading diverse teams at CMP. She added that her new role as a WEF Ambassador represents an opportunity to “continue promoting female talent within the company and across the different spaces we share in the Atacama and Coquimbo regions.”<\/p>\n

According to Nicole Verdugo, founder of WOI, the recognition reflects the impact Andreoli’s leadership has had within a strategic industry for the region.<\/p>\n

“Having women role models in industries like mining is truly inspiring because it highlights the important work being done by many organizations and companies. Moreover, Chile is now recognized globally as a leader in women’s participation in the mining industry,” she said.<\/p>\n

MP at WOI<\/strong>
\nCMP’s participation in WOI Coquimbo 2026 extended across several sessions of the event. During one of the panel discussions,Cristian Inostroza, CMP’s Deputy People Manager, spoke about talent development and explained how digital transformation, greater female participation in decision-making, and family-friendly workplace practices contribute to stronger business performance across the mining industry.<\/p>\n

In addition, Camila Mart\u00ednez, General Superintendent of CMP’s Elqui Valley Operations, shared her leadership journey with more than 150 girls and young women from the region, encouraging them to develop their talents, embrace innovation, and pursue their professional aspirations.<\/p>\n

WOI Atacama<\/strong>
\nThe Women Open Innovation event in the Atacama Region, held on June 18 at Hotel Atacama Suites, exceeded organizers’ expectations thanks to the strong participation of entrepreneurs, representatives from the public sector, academia, private industry, and a delegation of CMP employees.<\/p>\n

The program featured presentations and innovation success stories focused on regional entrepreneurship. One of the event’s most significant sessions was the panel discussion,”The Future of Atacama: Sustainability, Innovation and Transformation,”which brought together leaders from different sectors, including Maytte Inojosa, CMP’s Head of Sustainability and Strategic Planning. The panel provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and build a shared vision around the opportunities and challenges for the region’s sustainable economic development.<\/p>\n

CMP’s participation in both editions of Women Open Innovation reflects the company’s commitment to advancing female talent and creating leadership opportunities for women, contributing to a mining industry that is more diverse, inclusive, and closely connected to the challenges and opportunities of the territories where it operates.<\/p>\n
