The company was selected among 51 companies out of a total of 17,762 assessed and was one of three recognized in the mining category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the fourth consecutive year, Compa\u00f1\u00eda Minera del Pac\u00edfico (CMP) received the Best Paying Companies (MEP) Award, presented by the Chilean Commodity Exchange and the Association of Entrepreneurs of Chile (ASECH). The award recognizes best practices and responsible payment practices toward SME suppliers over the past year.<\/p>\n

The recognition highlights a policy that CMP has strengthened particularly in the Atacama and Coquimbo regions, where it operates and maintains close ties with local businesses. Currently, more than 40% of its suppliers are headquartered in these regions, while 37% of the company’s purchases are allocated directly to strengthening the local value chain.<\/p>\n

In terms of payment terms, local companies receive payment within a maximum of 15 days from the invoice issuance date, while regional transportation SMEs benefit from a seven-business-day payment arrangement. This measure, implemented in August 2025 and consolidated over the past 12 months, has provided these companies with greater financial certainty and strengthened their ability to sustain and expand their operations.<\/p>\n

According to CMP Administration and Finance Manager Carlos Sep\u00falveda, the distinction reflects the company’s commitment to a long-term sustainable development strategy in Atacama and Coquimbo:<\/p>\n

\u201cYear after year, we have worked to improve our processes in ways that support the growth of the territories where we operate. We are proud to reinforce that 96% of our employees and nearly 50% of our suppliers belong to the areas where we are present. Through these actions, we reaffirm our purpose of promoting the development and well-being of the communities with which we share our territory.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Christopher Bosler, General Manager of the Chilean Commodity Exchange, highlighted the importance of large companies adopting responsible payment practices:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe MEP Award seeks to provide transparent information to the market, encourage best practices, and recognize organizations that consistently meet their commitments to suppliers. As part of this commitment, this year we strengthened the methodology by introducing more stringent criteria, so that the recognition represents an increasingly higher standard.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To qualify under this new standard, organizations must meet a series of requirements, including having paid at least 60 invoices to 20 different suppliers and maintaining an average payment period of less than the 30 days established by law.<\/p>\n

This achievement encourages CMP to continue strengthening compliance with its payment terms and improving the availability of invoice information, while advancing the development of its local value chain, with the goal of increasing the share of purchases from local suppliers from 37% to 40%.<\/p>\n

With this fourth consecutive recognition, CMP reaffirms its commitment to responsible management, fostering long-term relationships with its suppliers and promoting sustainable economic development in northern Chile.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
