CMP leads the way towards sustainable and socially responsible mining: Three key recognitions at FOREDE 2024
In an event that brought together the main industry players and authorities from the Atacama region and national authorities, CMP was highlighted for its advances in Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety, and Inclusion, fundamental areas in its corporate strategy.
This recognition not only validates CMP’s efforts, but reflects its commitment to a long-term vision, in which regional development and the creation of shared value are essential. “These awards are a testament to our focus on doing things differently. We want to demonstrate that it is possible to lead the iron industry while building a more inclusive, safe and sustainable future,” said Francisco Carvajal, general manager of CMP.
The eighth edition of FOREDE, organized by the Corporation for the Development of Atacama (Corproa), brings together companies of various sizes, generating meeting spaces that promote new business opportunities and strengthen the competitiveness of the Northern Macrozone. CMP, as the official sponsor of the mining pavilion, stands out for its active participation in key seminars, where its management team shares the vision and concrete actions that the company is implementing to face the challenges of the future.
The president of Corproa, Juan José Ronsecco highlighted that CMP obtaining these recognitions comes directly from the corporation’s partners for their contribution to the Atacama Region.
“The recognition we deliver today is the way in which Corproa partners want to highlight the good work of the local industry. It is our partners who have voted and stated that these companies are the most outstanding, the most relevant in each of their categories,” commented Ronsecco.
In addition to the recognition, CMP has consolidated its role as a benchmark in responsible mining, with initiatives that integrate technology, environmental care and social inclusion. From innovations in workplace safety to projects with a positive impact on local communities, the company continues to set the pace for mining that, beyond operational results, has a real impact on people and the environment.
In a context where sustainability and social responsibility are increasingly relevant, CMP positions itself as a strategic actor that understands the importance of its role in the development of the Atacama region and in the construction of a more just and equitable future.
