Filtered Tailings Storage Facility (FTSF)
The Filtered Tailings Storage Facility (FTSF) of the Pellet Plant is an installation designed for the safe and controlled disposal of solid material generated during the production process. It incorporates technology that enables greater stability, more efficient water use, and improved control of potential environmental impacts.
This system, which began operations in 2023, represents a significant advancement in CMP’s environmental management and is aligned with the company’s commitments to sustainability, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection.
Environmental Monitoring and Air Quality
As part of the FTSF’s environmental management, CMP implements an ongoing monitoring program for wind erosion and particulate matter, aimed at evaluating the behavior of the deposited material under wind action.
This monitoring is carried out using Leatherman-type traps, whose results ensure systematic tracking and compliance with the environmental commitments established for the project.
